Big red

Readers will recall there’s construction going on behind my city hall office. Naturally with all that construction it’s not a good idea to walk out the back door, where there might be a big hole in the ground, a pad of wet concrete, a tipped over portapotty, or whatever. So to make sure no one does such an awful thing we get a nice sign warning us not to. And in case you miss the ginormous red one that’s as tall as I am? Not one, not two, but THREE more signs taped onto the door itself saying the exact same thing, not to

Look carefully. I know the sign is hard to see, but trust me. It’s there.

mention a hanging placard a little down the hall that’s not pictured. And the best part? The city doesn’t really mean it. There’s no alarm and higher-ups in the government continue to use the door from time to time.
