When did West Virginia invade?

Danspotting got 174 unique visitors on Friday, more than any other single day since the blog started. For comparison’s sake, it gets somewhere between 25-30 on an average day.

So why the jump?

DCist has a weekly (or so) feature called Overheard, which is basically a rip-off of Overheard in New York, only with Washingtonians as the subject rather than New Yorkers. On Friday they posted the latest installment with a headline highlighting a quote someone overheard near Eastern Market about a kid and his cousin. It reminded me of a story I told here a few months ago, so I dug the story up and posted a link in the comments section of DCist.

...And apparently the demand for stories about incest is higher than one might have thought.

Who knew?
