The latter hurts. A lot. But if nothing else it makes the former worth the effort.

Something you'd like to share? Or just a general observation on the human condition?
Share? What is this share of which you speak? No, that's all you get. If it so pleases you, however, you siblings may commence gossiping amongst yourselves regarding this oh-so-rare tidbit of information into Dan's personal life. :-\
I used to console myself with the thought that I was 'building my romantic resume'.
That made the pain seem exciting and glamorous.
And, as Nora Ephron says, if something bad happens now, it will be a great story later.
Perhaps we shall.
