“Social milestone” doesn’t mean what it used to

Castrated

Wouldn’t happen now
It’s time to put Will & Grace out to pasture. The once-revolutionary show is now officially irrelevant, thanks to NBC’s decision to cave to pressure from a conservative Christian organization over the show’s casting of Britney Spears in an upcoming episode. Ignoring the fact that Britney Spears is herself irrelevant, she was to play the conservative host of a Christian talk show called “Cruci-fixins”, which was actually a pretty hilarious piece of stunt-casting.

Unfortunately, some rubes in Tupelo, Mississippi are apparently all it takes to disrupt a once-landmark show. Still smarting from the failure of The Book of Daniel, NBC is not only rewriting the character, but falling all over itself to apologize for daring to offend the religious right.

Will & Grace afraid of offending the right? Really? I can only hope NBC mercifully ends the show before Karen turns sober, Jack turns straight, and Will and Grace finally come to their senses and marry each other.

Yow! That would have been hilarious. I'm so mad at them for caving. I think we should form a group that is offended at them for that. Create a damned if you do, damned if you don't dynamic.
