Lifestyles of the rich and famous
Want to know how the 31 richest Americans live? Forbes Magazine has a slide show showing photographs of their homes. Abigail Johnson's (#12 on the list, worth $12.5 billion) in Milton, MA is probably my favorite:

A few more highlights (and question marks) below...
Topping the list with a net worth over $50 billion is Bill Gates. His fortress compound home in Medina, WA is exactly what one would expect:

Several of the Waltons are on the list. All their homes look like they were prefabbed at Sam’s Club. This is what $15.7 billion in WalMart money buys you:

The most inexplicable is the home of Pierre Omidyar (#18, $10.2 billion). Apparently he lives in a subdivision in suburban Las Vegas:

The Mars family shows up several times on the list as well, most notably Forrest Edward Mars Jr. (#19, $10 billion), who lives in this highrise in Arlington, VA. I also live in a highrise in Arlington, VA, so Forrest is now my favorite billionaire.
