Speaking of the view from my roof, it ain't bad...

Unfortunately DC's monumental core is obstructed by a penthouse, but there's plenty you can see.

The National Cathedral:


Downtown Bethesda, MD:


The Masonic Washington Monument in Alexandria, VA:
(The Potomac River is also just barely visible if you look closely.)


Adams Morgan and Walter Reed, DC:


Tysons Corner, VA:


Crystal City, VA:


Downtown Rockville, MD:


And of course, Bailey's Crossroads, VA:


The view from my 12th floor balcony, however, is somewhat less than spectacular.
