Bush guilty of "illegal covert propaganda"

According to an investigation requested by Senators Edward Kennedy and Frank Lautenberg and recently released by the US General Accountability Office, the Bush administration is guilty of illegal covert propaganda for actions taken to promote the 2002 No Child Left Behind Act. Allegedly, the Department of Education paid supposedly independent commentators to give the act good press and didn’t disclose the arrangement.

Frankly, this comes as no surprise. It should be obvious to anyone who cares to look that the Bush administration loathes the independent press and seeks to control it wherever possible. What does come as a surprise is that amidst years of security-related propaganda it’s a lowly education act that has brought the issue to a head. If this administration can’t be trusted to conduct even domestic policy with integrity how can it be trusted to continue the great American tradition as world arsenal of freedom and democracy? The answer is it can’t. This administration hates the principals the make America great and by extension hates America. It only cares about power.
