I happened upon this plate of meat…

Clicking goes to Stinkymeat!
It looks edible now, but just you wait.
In the olden days of the internet, before Strong Bad took off or College Humor started having booby contests, before bloggers and way before Danspotting, there was a website called TheSpark.com. It was the most popular humor site on the net. Though it has spawned a vast empire of offspring, including SparkNotes and OKcupid, the original site is long since gone, viewable only through the Way Back Machine, and then in only truncated form. The Stinkymeat Project, TheSpark’s most famous and hilarious segment, seemed lost to history forever.

But I found it. In looking through the archive, I stumbled upon a link to a mirror domain the original owners of TheSpark had set up, presumably to help accommodate the traffic Stinkymeat was getting. To my euphoric surprise, the mirror remains alive and well!

And so here it is: The Stinkymeat Project. The chronicled adventures of a dedicated scientist who risked potential embarrassment and horrible, horrible smells to find out once and for all just exactly what happens to a plate of raw meat planted in someone’s back yard. If you know and remember it fondly, enjoy a trip back in time. If you somehow missed the phenomenon, prepare to laugh out loud for the next 20 minutes.
