A natural scene of Northern Virginia |
The National Zoo’s new director John Berry is a dreamer. As part of his
plan to turn Washington’s zoo into the world’s “gold standard” (screw you, San Diego!), he’s introduced proposals ranging from an aerial tramway to a $60 million elephant house to – get this – a tourist safari at the zoo’s Front Royal, VA annex. The annex, which is in the satellite hinterlands of Washington at the northern entry to Shenandoah National Park, is currently used mainly for research and breeding programs, but has plenty of room for tourists, according to Berry.
I say why not. When I think of the things that would make my life more complete an African safari in the Blue Ridge is at the very top of the list.

a SAFARI right here in VA hot damn I am so there! I do think the Zoo has a long way to go to improve things for the animals and guests, a skyway is not part of it imho but expanded facilities, updated facilities and better care top the list.
Just when poor Brian thought he had everything figured out...
Ooooof. I bet it's the same anon girl just trying to throw me off.
